While freelancing at Metropolitan Republic JHB in 2014, I was given the opportunity to work on a logo for the MTN summer campaign - Siya Wina Mzala. I designed the logo and hopped onto some MTN summer creative.
This particular campaign would come alive in all MTN store fronts - continent wide. The creative had to be strategic and functional due to the vast application of it. We conceptualised a plan and created 6 and 3 panel variations for the different sized store fronts, almost 2m in height. Due to the cellphone deals needing to switch out - the deal was strategically placed on one panel so only that panel needed to be reprinted.
The shoot was a great experience. I so enjoyed the energy of the models - Nhlanhla Nciza and Theo Kgosinkwe, the Mafikizolo duo. The fashion, colours and the all vibe of the shoot and idea inspired the explosive visual direction.
